The 4th single release from Michelle Daly's debut album January Skies is the theatrical and subversive pop track 'Raven' which showcases her classical training counterbalanced by soulful and jazzy undertones. The musical traditions of Berlin, where the track was recorded, inform Raven’s twists and turns, what at first could be a straight-up show or cabaret tune taking us from the glamour of the stage into the darker smoky corners of the city’s famous underground clubs. Featuring a Debussy-inspired string and piano interlude, the track explores themes such as the fallacy of stardom and the protagonist's search for meaning and authenticity in their art. A video filmed at Berlin's famous Babylon Cinema portraying a David Lynch and Film Noir aesthetic will accompany the release.
